ACT Certification

A Strong, Committed Workforce, Ready to Deliver

Businesses relocating to or expanding in the MOKAN region benefit from a highly skilled, work-ready labor force trained to meet the demands of industry.

Maintaining this workforce readiness is central to our regional success. That’s why the MOKAN Partnership is proud that five of our seven counties have earned recognition as ACT Work Ready Communities, which validates a community’s commitment to workforce development and employer engagement.

As early as 2013, local businesses, educators, and civic leaders began collaborating to align training programs to real-world employer needs. Continuing this approach ensures that individuals from across southwest Missouri, southeast Kansas, and northeast Oklahoma are equipped with verified, job-relevant skills that support some of our biggest industries like manufacturing, logistics, and health care.

For site selectors and employers, this means a proven pipeline of certified, skilled workers who are ready to contribute to a business’s success from day one.

Contact the MOKAN Partnership to learn how our ACT Work Ready Communities means for your next business expansion in the Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas region.

“From an institutional viewpoint, WorkKeys validates our daily efforts in preparing our future workforce. It’s a great way for our students to demonstrate their career readiness with both employers and our state’s Department of Education. For the students, it helps open doors and for some leads to higher wages or college credit when receiving a qualifying score. Overall, ACT WorkKeys is win-win for
Carthage Technical Center.”
