Dedicated to promoting renewable and alternative energy awareness and education, the Missouri Alternative and Renewable Energy Technology (MARET) Center prepares students for the workforce and for further education by providing research opportunities and hands-on application.
The MARET Center seeks to expand renewable energy throughout the region with education, applied research, and economic development. Offered educational programs provide certification and transfer degrees in green construction, solar thermal energy, solar electricity, and wind.
Past students of the MARET Center have completed nationally recognized projects, including the Trans-American Solar Auto Run (TSAR), which was the first solar-powered vehicle to cross the continental U.S. from coast to coast in 1984.
